Renewable Performance Engineering Intern– Renewable Energy
Exus Management Partners (Exus) is a renewables asset management and development firm. We work on behalf of an increasing variety of investors to source investment opportunities, acquire assets and undertake full technical and commercial management of renewable energy portfolios worldwide.
In doing so, Exus draws on its wide-ranging expertise to help its investors optimize technical performance, reduce financial risks and ensure long-term revenue certainty. Exus has a growing global presence, with offices in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, USA, Canada and Mexico. It currently manages an operational portfolio of around 10 GW.
We are looking for a Renewable Performance Engineering Intern for our Summer 2025 intern program out of our Pittsburgh, PA office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be 8-10 weeks (June through August 2025). This position has the potential to transition into a full-time role upon graduation.
The Performance Engineer Intern will be responsible for supporting the Technical Operations team to perform operational performance monitoring and development of advanced analytics. This internship will be project-based and will require cross-departmental coordination to successfully complete the project assigned. Additional supporting tasks related to performance monitoring, operational reporting, and upkeep of performance metrics associated with renewable energy assets will be required.

Internship Description and Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating new advanced analytics tools per the defined internship project.
- Recommend (and aid in the creation of) any tasks that can be automated.
- Suggest modifications to data sources, tables, and processes to automate reports and analysis.
- Monitoring
- Utilize the internal SCADA systems to develop monitoring routines
- Perform day-to-day monitoring on all assigned projects
- Identify any performance related issues
- Coordinate with Operations Engineers, Asset Managers, and BOP Site Managers to troubleshoot and resolve identified performance related issues
- Utilize internal advance analytics to monitor performance
- An undergraduate Junior or Senior, currently enrolled and attending an accredited college or university.
- Willing to be in Pittsburgh, PA for the duration of the intern program (this is an in-office role).
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer sciences, data sciences, or other technically related field.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience in Python, Matlab, R, or other data analytical programming languages.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- SQL and API experience a plus.
