Evolve Coaching is seeking a Development Manager to play a critical role in the organization’s fundraising efforts. The Development Manager will plan and implement development and fundraising strategies to provide for the short- and long-term needs of the organization. This role will communicate the organization’s programs, client stories, and funding needs to external partners to solicit donations and meet annual fundraising goals. A successful candidate will have previous experience managing a fundraising department and/or fundraising projects in their previous role(s). The candidate should have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, be able to develop and build relationships, and be passionate about equity for neurodiverse and disabled people. This position will report to the Executive Director and is an onsite position with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week most weeks.

Who we are:

As a nonprofit organization Evolve provides highly specialized coaching services to more than 300 college students, job seekers, and artists each year in the Pittsburgh region. Evolve offers arts and film programming as an accessible and meaningful avenue to connect to the world through an annual summer arts camp, year-round workshops, and ongoing outreach, support, and resources to neurodiverse artists. Evolve also works with community groups, employers, schools, and universities to offer inclusion training and workshops to raise awareness of neurodiversity and remedy institutional oppression.

What you will do:

  1. Develop and execute Evolve’s fundraising strategies and campaigns, in collaboration with the Executive Director, to support short- and long-term revenue goals. 
  2. Research and write grants appropriate for Evolve programming. Report on grants as requested by funders.
  3. Identify and nurture strategic relationships with partners, foundations, and donors by communicating Evolve’s mission and the value of financial support.
  4. Grow the individual donor list and solicit donations. 
  5. Plan and organize the annual fundraiser and smaller events throughout the year in collaboration with the Executive Director, board of directors, and staff. Solicit corporate and community sponsorships for events and programs.
  6. Design and implement marketing materials related to fundraising and program initiatives; collaborate with leaders for ongoing program awareness. 
  7. Process and evaluate CRM reports related to fundraising endeavors and report to the board of directors’ fundraising committee. 
  8. Oversee the responsibilities of the Engagement & Advancement Specialist.

What you will need:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business or related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.
  2. Minimum 3 years of full-time fundraising development experience (i.e., donor relations, grants management) required.
  3. Prior people management/supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Familiarity with CRMs, particularly Salesforce, preferred.
  5. Extensive knowledge of fundraising strategies and principles.
  6. Expert-level attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on succinctness and clarity.
  8. Excellent presentation skills with an ability to adapt presentation approaches to various audience members’ needs and expectations; ability to use a variety of formats to effectively communicate ideas.
  9. Able to develop relationships with coworkers, business partners and colleagues. Builds trust, honors commitments; treats all with respect. Uses those skills to accurately accomplish tasks.
  10. Able to proactively identify problems or gaps and provide solutions.
  11. Able to manage a fundraising schedule and meet deadlines.

The work environment:

  • Ability to work onsite in an office environment.
  • Ability to operate standard office/computer equipment.
  • Travel at least 10% to sites beyond the company office.

Salary Range: $55,000 to $63,000
