Residential Support Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Residential Support Specialist to help create a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment for residents participating in our residential programs. In this role, you will build positive relationships with residents while helping maintain a structured living environment, promoting program engagement, and responding to safety and support needs with professionalism and empathy.

Note: Positions are available on both AM and PM shifts. We especially encourage candidates with PM availability to apply, as evening coverage is our highest current staffing priority.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and recovery-oriented residential environment that promotes resident well-being and personal growth.
- Monitor the residential facility and conduct routine safety checks to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and the facility.
- Build supportive relationships with residents while encouraging adherence to program expectations, schedules, and daily routines.
- Observe resident behavior and communicate concerns, progress, or significant changes to the clinical and program teams.
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, behavioral health situations, and safety concerns while following established organizational protocols.
- Document daily activities, resident interactions, incidents, and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and appropriate support using trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practices.
- Collaborate closely with clinical and program staff to ensure continuity of care and support for residents.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming residential environment.
- Respond to medical emergencies, including behavioral health and overdose situations, in accordance with agency policies. Administer naloxone (Narcan) when appropriate and trained, contact emergency medical services as needed, and complete required incident documentation and follow-up.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working in behavioral health, human services, residential programs, or related environments preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals in recovery or vulnerable populations preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
