MRK Partners is seeking a dynamic, experienced Due Diligence Manager II for its Los Angeles, California location. The Due Diligence Manager will be responsible for supporting and assisting projects from start to finish – from initial acquisition analysis and determination of financing structures to construction and asset management. The successful candidate will be a team player, able to exercise good judgment, be a skilled communicator, and adept at juggling competing priorities.  This position is an on-site role.

What you will do:

  • Coordinates multiple projects concurrently at varying stages of development while meeting or exceeding deadlines; works with team members across the entire business, including accounting, property management, development, and leadership.
  • Perform market research and valuation analyses.
  • Perform extensive due diligence on each transaction; prepare written analyses and evaluations of investment opportunities for senior management.
  • Act as point person on transactions, work with senior management and coordinate responsibilities.
  • Assist in negotiations of contract and agreements with financing institutions.
  • Performs pre-construction, construction and project close-out duties; turnover of the project to asset and property management teams.
  • Continuously improve development operations, systems, procedures, tools, and organizational expertise.
  • Independently manages all aspects of closing statements, including but not limited to: tracking costs, modeling costs in all relevant sources, compare to invoicing spreadsheets, coordinate between the lender, bond underwriter, and title group to ensure accuracy, and facilitate the flow of funds between title, trustee and any other relevant parties. 
  • Performs tax credit analysis and communicates with tax credit syndicator to make accurate adjustments as needed. 

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of real estate and experience working in a multi-family housing real estate development environment strongly preferred. 
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and Excel- must be able to build Excel files, charts and workflows to ensure data is digestible and accurate consistently. 
  • Experience working with Monday.com Work OS and RealPage software preferred but not required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extremely proficient in MS Office and virtual meeting applications. Adept at quickly mastering new systems and technology. 
  • Detail-oriented, organized, motivated, meticulous, practical & flexible. Able to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities and maintain professional composure.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high energy and team-oriented environment. Able to complete high quality work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read and decipher leases, contracts, financials, inspection reports, and title documents.


This role has a base salary range of $90,000-$115,000, depending on qualification fit and relevant experience.
