Exus is seeking a Director of Construction - Wind that
will be responsible for the initial set-up of protocols on renewable projects undergoing final development and moving into engineering, procurement, and construction, specifically the follow through on the complete engineering and testing of the projects.

Please note: this is a fully onsite role with 4 days in office, 1 day remote, with reasonable flexibility in our Pittsburgh office. 

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with preparing and maintaining cost data to support the development and commercial groups.
  2. Implement contractual agreements, permit requirements, and scopes of work for all active projects.
  3. Work on a routine basis with the directors of construction, project managers, site managers, and other assigned staff of projects.; may be assigned as the Project Manager of certain project(s) as staffing levels and assignments dictate.
  4. Actively mentor direct reports; meet with VP, EPC to discuss construction assignment staffing and evaluate performance.
  5. Oversee engineering contractors, and coordinate documents between engineering, construction, procurement, and internal Exus departments; responsible in ensuring reports continually execute the scope of work that Exus has taken responsibility for.
  6. Make recommendations to VP, EPC on what work Exus wil contract direct and what work will be incorporated into the Contractor’s and Renewable Energy supplier’s contracts.
  7. Chair the turnover meeting(s) of all new projects from the development department to construction.
  8. Complete initial set-up of the management protocols and specifications for construction projects under the direction of the VP, EPC; ensure scope of work Exus is responsible for is continually executed.
  9. Ensure 3rd parties (i.e., interconnection, governing authorities, and others) support the milestones and project needs and make recommendations to the VP, EPC on when to engage 3rd party support for project-related functions when expertise does not reside in-house.
  10. Chair weekly meetings and assign follow-through action lists for all projects and responsible for the weekly and monthly review of project engineering status reports.
  11. Conduct financial forecasting, cash flow projections, and risk analysis of ongoing and future projects.
  12. Partner with Site Managers as it relates to potential claims from Exus’ contractors and vendors.
  13. Responsible for ensuring all contractual notices are given to our Renewable Energy suppliers and contractors, in accordance with each contract specifications.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management required, master’s preferred.
  2. 10+ years’ experience in a position of responsibility with a construction/engineering firm, required experience in utility scale wind design, construction, and commissioning.
  3. Prior experience assisting on projects from groundbreaking to project turnover.
  4. Experience in coordinating multiple projects and meeting deadlines & managing groups of 5+ direct reports.
  5. Prior experience leading the execution of no less than 3 simultaneous projects valued over $50 million dollars.
  6. Travel up to 40% of the time, beyond the corporate office to project sites.
