Associate Attorney

Position:
Accelerant Law is seeking an Associate Attorney with a minimum of one year of experience in trusts and estates or tax to join our growing team in a flexible, supportive, and highly collaborative environment. Attorneys with prior experience at accounting firms and recent Tax LL.M. graduates are also encouraged to apply!

Location:
This role is based in Washington, DC and requires 3 days per week in-office.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work on a wide range of sophisticated trusts and estates matters including:
- Drafting core estate planning documents for clients with taxable estates
- Drafting irrevocable trusts, including GRATs, SLATs and ILITs
- Executing complex gifting and sale transactions
- QSBS, pre-liquidity event and pre-IPO tax planning
- Establishing and administering private trust companies
- Assist with business development opportunities to help influence a growing law firm that seeks to disrupt the trusts & estates legal industry in pursuit of a better way of servicing our clients and practicing law.
- Immediate, direct client contact; you will build relationships with clients and will be included in meetings and calls from the very beginning.

- Minimum of one year of experience in a trusts and estates or tax practice at a law firm or accounting firm, OR recent graduate from top tier Tax LL.M. program.
- J.D. required; LL.M. in Taxation preferred.
- Admission to the D.C. Bar highly preferred, or admission to at least one state bar with eligibility to apply for D.C. Bar admission.
The total compensation range for this role is $180,000 - $300,000, based on relevant experience.
