Exus is seeking a Project Finance Associate that will support the financing of renewable energy projects, focusing on compliance, financial modeling, tax equity, and deal execution aspects of our renewable energy transactions.

The base salary for this role is $125,000-$150,000, depending on experience.

Exus is seeking a Project Finance Associate that will support the financing of renewable energy projects, focusing on compliance, financial modeling, tax equity, and deal execution aspects of our renewable energy transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess the feasibility and profitability of tax equity and debt financings of utility scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage, etc.).
- Support the structuring and negotiation of financing agreements, including debt, tax equity, and other capital markets solutions.
- Manage the lender and tax credit monetization diligence process, working with 3rd party consultants, counsel, and coordinating internal stakeholders.
- Cultivate strong relationships with banks and financial institutions, and industry partners.
- Analyze potential tax structures, including traditional ITC/PTC tax equity and tax credit transfer arrangements to determine project IRR.
- Support the preparation of investor presentations and due diligence materials for financing transactions as well as for internal reporting purposes.
- Work collaboratively with project development, EPC, M&A, and Commercial teams to ensure successful deal execution.
- Stay up to date on renewable energy policies, financing trends, tax regulations, and market trends impacting the industry.
- Travel up to 15% including visits to the corporate office in PA, conferences, or site visits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering or a related field.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or a related field (prior experience in renewable energy is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills with a proficiency in financial modeling.
- Excellent understanding of financial principles and valuation methodologies.
- Experience with tax equity structures for renewable energy projects is preferred.
