Paralegal – Litigation and Estate Planning
Job Summary:
Fiffik Law Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal with experience in litigation and estate planning to join our team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in managing casework, drafting legal documents, and assisting with client communication. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong legal knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation Support:
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including document review, discovery, and trial preparation.
Draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries or chronologies.
Manage case files, including electronic filing in federal and state courts.
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff to ensure timely filings and case progress.
Estate Planning Support:
Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
Prepare estate administration documents, including probate filings and inventory reports.
Communicate with clients to gather information and assist with document execution.
Maintain accurate records for estate planning clients, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on litigation and estate planning.
Paralegal certificate or degree in legal studies is preferred.
Strong understanding of litigation and estate planning processes, terminology, and legal standards.
Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and case management software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with local, state, and federal court systems.
Experience with e-filing systems (e.g., PACER, state court systems).
