Job Summary:
A&H is seeking a Parts and Warehouse Associate in our Independence, Ohio location.

The standard shift for this role is 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with occasional overtime available. This role is responsible for assisting customers and service technicians with location parts for multiple lines of equipment.  Success in the position is heavily dependent upon excellent customer service skills, the ability to respond to numerous parts requests at one time and knowing the most effective ways to source parts within the warehouse.  Initially, this role will have a focus on supporting the warehouse operations and ensuring the parts and stock are well managed.

The person in this position must have a strong Customer Service orientation due to the nature of the responsibilities as well as strong organizational skills. This role reports to the Parts Manager at the location.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Fill and ship daily orders from inventory.
  • Review service work orders, verifying that correct quantities and parts are billed.
  • Safely operate forklift, pallet jack, hand cart and other machinery within the shop.
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts storage area, parts counter and showroom display area.
  • Load/Unload shipments, inspecting for damages or flaws.
  • Maintain department safety standards, organization and cleanliness.
  • Provide customers with parts price quotes, availability and technical information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Respond promptly to parts requests by service technicians.
  • Multi-task and transition easily between requests for the parts inventories of multiple lines of equipment.
  • Receive and review daily and weekly parts orders by verifying part numbers and quantities and allocate them to the proper bin location, customer or service job.
  • Reconcile open purchase orders in a regular cadence in line with location expectations.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; vo-tech or vocational school education encouraged to apply
  • 1 year of experience in a customer service or sales role required; 2+ years highly preferred; prior experience in a parts role, heavy equipment shop, or automotive dealership highly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required as driving for company purposes may be required from time to time
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • General knowledge and experience with computer systems required; experience working with a service or dealership system preferred.

Working Environment and Physical Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently at waist height and above the head.
  • Exerting significant force to align tracks, moving heavy tool chests, or position components.
  • Frequently ascending and descending ladders or using the machine’s tracks and grabbing handles to reach parts and components within the shop environment.
  • Reaching and working with arms above shoulder level for extended periods.
  • Maintaining a firm grip on heavy hand tools and power equipment.
  • The ability to manipulate small fasteners, electrical connectors, and delicate diagnostic tools in tight, greasy spaces.
  • Parts Associates typically spend 8 hours per day on their feet, often on hard concrete surfaces.
  • Employees may be asked and expected to work overtime.

The pay range for this role is $21.50-$23/hour, depending on relevant experience and fitness to the role.
