About the Role:
You'll be responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of the organization's revenue efforts, including all earned and contributed income streams, from ticket sales and class enrollments to individual giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, government funding, to planned giving. Develops and executes comprehensive marketing and fundraising strategies that cultivate audience attendance, philanthropic support, strengthen community relationships, and advance the organization's mission, artistic excellence, education initiatives, and long-term financial sustainability

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue and relationship strategy to achieve annual and long-term revenue goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership for all marketing and development activities.
  • Build, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with audiences, donors, organizational partners, and community leaders to expand support and strengthen organizational sustainability.
  • Identify, research, and pursue new funding and earned revenue opportunities while overseeing the preparation, submission, and stewardship of all proposals and required reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Education and Artistic leadership, Board of Directors, and Development Committee to establish revenue priorities, engage volunteers in cultivation and solicitation efforts, and advance organizational revenue goals.
  • Develop and manage the Advancement Department's annual operating budget, revenue projections, revenue pipeline, and performance metrics, ensuring responsible stewardship of earned and contributed revenue.
  • Oversee CRM database management, package creation, gift processing, prospect research, analytics, reporting, and systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping and data integrity.
  • Strategize with the advancement and revenue team to develop compelling marketing and fundraising, campaigns, sponsorship materials, annual reports, and stewardship initiatives that effectively communicate the organization's mission and impact.
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate marketing and fundraising staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and audience and donor-centered culture.
  • Monitor audience and fundraising trends, best practices, and industry benchmarks to recommend innovative strategies that strengthen organizational sustainability and engagement.
  • Represent the organization at fundraising events, performances, community functions, and networking opportunities to increase visibility and philanthropic support.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, ethical, financial, and reporting requirements related to charitable giving, grant administration, and donor stewardship.

  • Possesses an aptitude for technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products with advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with donor relationship management systems (such as Tessitura, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms).
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, Arts Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred. Demonstrated related experience may substitute for preferred education.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible fundraising or advancement experience in a nonprofit organization required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or leadership experience managing development staff, fundraising programs, or cross-functional teams required.
  • Demonstrated success securing subscribers, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, government funding, and other revenue.
  • Experience working collaboratively with executive leadership, governing boards, volunteers, and community stakeholders within a nonprofit or arts organization preferred.
